JKU

Founded in 1966, the Johannes Kepler University is one of the youngest institutions of higher education in Austria and has been ranked # 70 in the Times Higher Education “Top 100 under 50” in 2014. JKU is a contemporary, progressive and modern university that has managed to build and maintain a close interdisciplinary relationship between its four faculties - the Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics and Business, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, and the newly established Faculty of Medicine (2014) - to fulfill the demands of business and society today.

Research at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics and Business not only revolves around the needs of well-established, strong and internationally active businesses, but it is also strongly anchored within the international scientific community. Research activities in Business Administration focus on “management and innovation”, social systems, markets, as well as welfare states and systems. The interdisciplinary Business Law degree program lies at the center of research at the Faculty of Law, an essential and key academic field at the JKU.

By establishing competency centers and spin-off companies, the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences has become an internationally appreciated partner for technologically focused corporations. Interdisciplinary research conducted in five main technical and engineering disciplines - Chemistry and Polymer Sciences, Informatics, Mathematics, Mechatronics, Physics - is characterized by innovative technical solutions and cutting-edge research that yield state-of-the-art, aligned, progressive results.
