Connect with the European controls community

Immerse yourself in the field of systems and control and engage with academic and industrial professionals at the 14th annual European Control Conference, to be held in Linz, Austria, July 15-17, 2015:

  • Learn about the latest controls research from top professionals in the field.
  • Network with colleagues from across Europe and around the world.
  • Experience the hospitality of JKU Linz and Linz, the European Capital of Culture 2009.
ECC has traditionally been organized every two years ever since its first edition in 1991 in Grenoble up until 2013 in Zürich. Since then, the conference is to be held every year.

The submissions will be evaluated by the Conference Editorial Board and International Program Committee and the accepted papers will be submitted to the IEEE-Xplore digital library. However, papers not presented at ECC15 will be withdrawn from the IEEE-Xplore digital library.

Return of banquet tickets, which are not going to be used 2015-07-15
As the banquet dinner is a very special and limited opportunity to connect with people, tickets which are not used would be a huge waste, as somebody might have wanted to go there. We kindly ask every full registrant, who has a ticket but is not planning to use it, to return it at the registration desk so we can give it to students, who do not have a banquet dinner ticket included in their registration.

Cafeteria Payment Options 2015-07-14
We would like to inform everyone that the Cafeterias at JKU (Choice, Chat Cafe, Science Cafe) are not able to accept credit card payments. Please consider that and bring cash with you if your consumption will be above the voucher value of 7€.

Public Transport - Tram service interruption on 14th July 2015-07-14
There will be a rail replacement service on tram lines 1 & 2 between the stops JKU | University and Rudolfstraße from 21:00 until the end of service. The transportation will be carried out by buses instead of trams. Detailed information can be found at the registration desk.

Welcome Reception -- Conference bag pick-up 2015-07-13
The inofficial start of the conference will be the Welcome Reception on Tuesday, 19:00 - 21:00 at the LENTOS Kunstmuseum. The LENTOS is located alongside the Danube river, close to the Hauptplatz -- detailed directions can be found here, and you can use our interactive map to find your way.
If you are a registered participant you don't need to go to the registration desk at JKU Campus first, as we offer you to pick-up your conference bag directly at the LENTOS Kunstmuseum. On-site registrations are only possible at the Registration Desk though.

Academic Tours 2015-07-10
There are still some tickets available for the guided tour through the steel production plant voestalpine in Linz on Wednesday, 14:30 - 18:00. The tickets are 15€, including the bus transfer from JKU Campus and back, and can be purchased via the Papercept system here.
All participants of both academic tours are reminded that they are touring production plants and kindly asked to wear suitable shoes (please do not wear flip flops, peep-toes, sandals or similar).

WiFi information 2015-07-09
Due to legal constraints the JKU cannot offer a general WiFi access code for all ECC15 participants, but will have to handout individual access codes that are restricted to a single device -- for which reason we will offer you two of those access codes. We also have to note that we will have to make you sign a certificate of receipt before being allowed to give away those codes -- for a more detailed description of this process please see the dedicated WiFi Information page.
You can avoid all of this if your institution is part of the eduroam program, in which case you can use your eduroam account and connect to the local WiFi network without any further ado. For this reason we kindly would like to ask you to check if your home institution is part of the program, and what your user credentials are for eduroam, such that you can use this more convenient way of connecting to the JKU WiFi network.

Alternatively you can use the voucher (value of 7€) either in the Choice, were you can freely compile your own menu from a large range of options, or for a small snack in the Chat Café or the Science Café. For detailed information about the lunch options see also "Attendees->Coffe Breaks & Lunch".

Student competition at ECC 2015 2014-08-12
Students are invited to participate in a student competition based on a high quality Simulink® model of a petrol engine provided by Toyota as a benchmark. The prospective participants are required to design a control algorithm which minimizes the consumption of this engine over a prescribed cycle. No special knowledge about engine control is expected at this level, but of course it can be a good introduction into the field of engine control. For more details click here.
