Student competition at ECC 2015: Optimal control of a gasoline engine

Students are invited to participate in a student competition based on a high quality Simulink® model of a gasoline engine provided by Toyota as a benchmark. The prospective participants are required to design a control algorithm which minimizes the consumption of this engine over a prescribed cycle. No special knowledge about engine control is expected at this level, but of course it can be a good introduction into the field of engine control.

Participants are expected to present their approach and results as regular paper with a special deadline (7.12.2014) which will be peer reviewed and, if accepted, scheduled for presentation and published in the proceedings. To submit your contribution, please use the "Student Competition paper" category on the submission site.

A detailed description of the control task and how to participate in this student competition is available in this document.
